Increased Collaborations and Joint Actions between Greek and Turkish Cypriot CSOs.
Civic Space recognizes that joint actions and collaboration between CSOs from across Cyprus plays a significant role in the promotion of peace and reconciliation in the country. Many bi-communal projects have been supported by the EU, EEA and USAID in the past few decades. In order to sustain these efforts and to create new initiatives of collaboration and joint actions between the two communities, Civic Space has carried out a feasibility assessment for bi-communal actions, a sustainability strategy of bi-communal activities, and will support through various activities both new and existing bi-communal actions.

Feasibility Study of bi-communal activities
With the help of Greek Cypriot, Turkish Cypriot and international researchers, Civic Space has conducted a feasibility study of bi-communal work in Cyprus, in order to support current and future bi-communal actions. The Study covers the history of bi-communal work and support provided by various donors since 2004.
This Feasibility study will contribute to understanding the dynamics of bi-communal activities island-wide. It provides:
- A mapping of peace-building efforts, including past and current projects;
- Identification of specific needs and motivations of civil societies from across Cyprus vis-à-vis bi-communal actions;
Recommendations for future support to existing and new bi-communal partnerships and actions.
A sustainability analysis of the bi-communal projects and partnerships.
Sustainability Strategy of bi-communal activities
According to the feasibility study and the sustainability analysis, Civic Space will develop a strategy to promote that new groups of citizens interact with the other community on a regular and sustainable basis, and to enhance the sustainability of current and future bi-communal networks and projects. The sustainability strategy of bi-communal activities will propose mechanisms to sustain the continuation of joint work. This strategy will be conceived following consultations with interested CSOs and activists involved in bi-communal actions.
