Ms. Marija Jancic Amberg – Team Leader

Marija has 29 years of experience on EU funded programmes and projects out of which 22 years at the EU Delegation to Serbia and Montenegro (former Yugoslavia). She has 15 years of team leader experience providing operational direction, ensuring the overall quality execution through leadership, coordination and technical support. She is specialized in Civil Society development, advocacy, networking, capacity building of CSOs and equally has extensive experience on human rights, refugee/IDP rights, confidence-building initiatives in conflict and post-conflict regions, namely the Western Balkans. Marija has extensive experience with EU policies and operational modalities of EU funding instruments, EC regulations, tendering and contracting procedures, project management, monitoring and project evaluation.

Ms. Selen Lermioğlu Yılmaz – Capacity Building Expert

Selen has over 17 years’ experience in the fields of democracy and governance with specific concentration on civil society, gender equality, human rights, legal reforms, policy development and policy dialogue. She has been delivering trainings or capacity building activity in civil society developments, developing manuals and training curricula. In the past 15 years Selen has been working in enabling environment for civil society including legal and financial framework and standards, civil society-public sector dialogue, participatory decision making mechanisms and policy dialogue. Mother tongue Turkish, she has been working in Cyprus for more than 5 years, in particular in the Turkish Cypriot Community.

Ms. Ebru Deniz Tekman – Communication Expert

Ebru has 20 years of experience in the fields of public relations, communication, human resources, advocacy and strategic planning. She has worked as project manager for EU and UNDP funded civil society projects in Cyprus, on participatory development, advocacy, gender mainstreaming, sustainable tourism, nature conservation and cultural heritage. She is specialised in developing awareness raising strategies for CSOs, in designing and implementing of advocacy strategies for EU-funded projects and poses an extensive experience in working within Cypriot CSOs.

Mr. Hilmi Tekoğlu – Project Assistant

Hilmi holds a Master Degree in International Relations from Eastern Mediterranean University, and had participated at the Exchange Studies in Leiden (NL) University. He has been working in the public sector for three years and has joined Civic Space in 2015 assisting the team in its daily work in support of the Cypriot Civil Society. His work is focused on financial and administrative parts of the project including Grow Civic programme, and management of social media project tools.
