Thematic conferences and seminars are powerful tools to build knowledge and technical skills on identified topics. While conferences host large numbers of participants and involve experts from EU countries or international organisations, seminars are smaller in size and more focused.
Believing in the complementarity of these means, Civic Space regularly organises thematic conferences and seminars for CSOs and activists from all communities, therefore strengthening their knowledge and skills while paving the way for further collaboration.
So far, Civic Space has organized 3 international thematic conferences on the enabling environment for CSOs (19 October 2016), transparency and accountability for CSOs (1 March 2018), and freedom of expression (7 June 2018).
In addition to the conferences, Civic Space organised 2 thematic seminars on social innovation and incubation (September 2016), and freedom of expression (June 2018) were carried out.
Moreover, Civic Space provided tailor-made technical support to thematic working groups based on demand. A variety of tools were used (study visit, facilitation, resource provision, partnership and networking support, etc.) continuously to support two thematic working groups: on anti-trafficking of human beings and enabling environment for civil society.
